from the 70's. as far as i know it isnt in the more rescent books,
dont know the name of it, but its basicly some little tart type things i used to make with my mum, if i remember correctly it was just butter sugar and currents heated up in the pan then put into the pastry cases (open topped) and then baked.
would appreciate the recipie if any one knows what im talking about here.

Butter tartlets? -one of my faves as a kid..its in a recent edition of bero -40th
makes 18
6oz short crust pastry
1oz butter
4oz currants
4oz demerara sugar
1 medium egg
few drops vanilla essence
glace cherry and glace icing to decorate
hope it helps-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

I found a copy of the new edition of the Bero cook book in Morrisons last week, along the aisle with the baking ingredients. Just over a £1 I think. They are in there.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0
