i have abount 500 left on my halifax would i be better going with my own bank first direct, i dont think i would get there gold card, but they have a 2.9% p.a. for balance transfers and purchases for 6 months if you make a balance transfer of a minimum £500 within 2 months of account opening. A Balance Transfer fee of 2.5% (min £2.50) will be charged if your first balance transfer is less than £500 or for second and subsequent transfers to the same card company.my halifax at the end of the introduction end date goes to 21.95% i can get my money down to 200 pounds with the halifax by the 16/04/20080

2.5% + 2.9% APR over 6 months is indeed cheaper than 21.9% APR over 6 months...
