Reserve price query

Hi I hope someone can help me...I listed a reasonable high price item a few days ago with a reserve price, and I received a question today asking me how much it was so that the person can bid for it.....Maybe I've gotten a bit confused but I thought that the reserve price was a secret...
....Can anyone please advise?
Thanks

Thanks

Reserves aren't secret... they just protect you from selling at too low a price.
Look at it this way... would you bother to bid (and bump up the price) if you had no idea if the reserve was more than you were willing to pay?My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

Just let him know the reserve, if I wanted something with a reserve I don't think I would bother to bid if the seller didn't answer.0

If I was interested in an item and seller refused to tell me I would bid £499.99 then retract and bid £49.99. Just out of principal.0

Its entirely up to you whether or not you disclose your reserve price, It will clearly be over £50, but from then on its up to you.
Personally if a buyer took the trouble to ask me the reserve price, I would be inclined to tell them-it all depends if you will be happy to accept that price if he is your only bidder.“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” Charles M Schulz0
