Bit to cheap for me to able pick up a signal at all!.0

Just to say that I bought one of these a couple of months ago and the performance was terrible. When surfing the net the pages would take ages to come up or I'd have to reload them and then they would come up instantly. I was using the default firmware loaded and didn't bother to update. I took it back and got a Belkin one for £10 more.
It's a good price but I don't think the kit is up to much.

Tried one of these along with a Buffalo PCMCIA card. The whole thing was a terrible experience....first it couldn't find the signal, then it found it but ignored it no matter what I did. Finally got it to work one time and thought I'd cracked it - until I turned my laptop on the next day and we were back to ignoring the connection.
Took it back as faulty and bought a £10 USR WAP (11b - all I need for surfing the net) and a £14 Sweex 11g/b PCMCIA card from SVP. The WAP was old tech and the other was a cheap no-name brand. Switched them on, installed drivers and they worked together immediately.
It might be just me but I would advise anyone to stay away unless they are wireless experts or willing to spend a loong time on the phone to technical support.0 -

our Belkin wireless has been appalling - am about to give up on it - if you do a search on google there's all sorts of people complaining about Belkin being poor...I might call it a day and try something new...0

How else would you get 2 PCs in completely different parts of the house hooked up to broadband at the same time?....Something we're considering at the moment (and we don't want wires all over the place either)Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
