Barclaycard 0%

Hi all, I'm a newcomer to the site, so please bear with me! I received an offer from Barclaycard offering balance transfers at 0% + 2% t/f fee until Jan 06. On further reading of the same paragraph it states that after October the balance reverts to its standard purchase rate of 14.8%. I rang Barclaycard to clarify this and was told it was a printing error - the offer is only until October 05! Is there anything I can do to get them to honour what I thought was a good deal? Is it worth phoning the FSA or Banking Ombudsman?

Current Barclaycard offer is on their website at https://www.barclaycard.co.uk

It shows 0% on BT's until 1st May 2006 with 3 months 0% on purchases.

So, based on the above, I don't think there's much to be gained from contacting the FSA or Banking Ombudsman.

Edit: forgot to say that, with a max £5K BT and 2% uncapped (£100 for £5K) BT fee, there are better cards around.

Better to go via the Barclays.co.uk website - there is a 10 month 0% offer there with no 2% fee.

Or here is the landing page without the fee ......

Rafter, under the "charges" section of summary box...

The advertised 0% is only available to new accounts. I already have a barclaycard. Considered getting other half to apply, but a bit weary as she was turned down last month for an MBNA deal. Got a message on phone from Barclaycard customer services, will call them tomorrow and let you know outcome.

Might have been better to have made this clear in your first post. Just something to bear in mind for future posts. ;)

    ez1,welcome,

You can apply for another Barclaycard online, but you will still have to pay 2%.
They will let you have 2 cards, if you have a good credit history, but may be cautious with credit limit. They will also let you swop limits between cards to get a better BTamount.

They are good with loyalty I have three cards, one with 0% for life (of BT), one 2.9% for BT life and one for purchases.

    Yorkshire boy.

Agree the summary box is confusing. It says 'no handling charge' in the balance transfer box though and I didn't get charge a fee when I applied for this offer.

Suggest you check with them first before applying or ask in a branch.
