Opening a joint account

Hello all here, some advice please as I have some dumb questions...:o

Firstly, how do you open a Joint account? Can it be done online or does it have to be in branch/

Second, is there any good banks to go with for Joint account - will probably not be used regularly so will not have the £1000 a month going in.

See I told you the qus were stupid :D any info gratefully received!

why have i got !! where it should say account lol
  • I think you must have mis spelt account so it had a four letter word beginning with c at the end
  • I have a HSBC joint account. We applied in branch and it was set-up straight away. Obviously you have to provide all the id's and utility bills for security checks.

I'd recommend HSBC, they're preety good IMHO.

I'd recommend HSBC too - my partner and I recently opened a joint account with them as we already both bank with them. The whole process took less than 10 minutes and the account was open instantly.

As it's already been said, if you aren't customers with them you'll need all of the relevant documents and possibly your last 3 months bank statements... Also you both obviously need to attend in person to sign...

I've been a customer for 10 years and have only ever had one problem with them.

    Regards
