Insurance Claim

i made a claim on my buildings insurance a couple of weeks ago and they paid up, £480 also we had to pay £100 excess, ive just had a letter from them saying because weve claimed its going up from £11 a month to £17 a month, although i expected it going up im surprised at how much it actually went up, has anyone else had this happen to them, i would really welcome any advice thanks in advance

Have they advised on your renewal quote it is going up?

If so shop around for a new company this time.

As far as a know insurers cannot decide to increase your premium mid-term due to a claim as you have paid a set premium for them to insure this risk.

ive just got off the phone to them and she said its because weve lost our no claims bonus and that its effective immediatly, she also said they would be revising it in june when the policy is up for renewal, i asked her did that mean it would be going up again and she said yes, so that will be twice in 6 months
