New to this debt-busting stuff

Hi
I'm also having trouble with transfer. I owe about 9,500 on an HSBC card, which I think I'll be able to pay off in about 30 months. Following the tips on this excellent website, last week I applied to Goldfish for a 36 month balance transfer deal card. I have today received a letter stating:

............................................

We are delighted to let you know that your application for a Goldfish card has been successful. blah blah blah

In the meantime, we wanted to give you an update on the status of your balance transfer request. On your application, you indicated that you wanted to transfer a balance from another credit card(s). The credit limit on your new Goldfish Card is £2100. As the amount of balances you wish to transfer exceeds your credit limit we have only been able to complete part of your transfer request.

Your balance transfer request(s) have been processed as follows:
xxx xxx amount £1945

Unfortunately this means we have not been able to transfer the following amounts to your new card:
xxx xxx amount £7408
......................................

I've just found Martin's advice on taking any cheap cards offered, but the proportion of the amount I need is so small I do worry that its just going to make life more complicated, with two lots of fees. If I phone and cancel the card what will it do to my credit rating? Has anyone got any tips for successful balance transfer?

THanks in advance
CBM

Two lots of fees isn't an issue. 3% of £9353 is the same as 3% of £1945 + 3% of £7408.

Good to see you are taking an interest in helping people too.

When were you on the rich list?

If you understood what is really going on in within banking and how millions of pounds of money is created everyday out of thin air, and how this corrupt fraudulant activity is crippelling the World, you would want to share it with others, to help make a difference to you and your families future.

Your narrow conditioned mind proves how the banks, banking owned medias, and banking owned governments have brainwashed you into thinking.... ...You must be very strong... Are you sure you are even strong enough to kick this ball about.

im rich and so is my wife....:rotfl: ... in life,
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)

sorry...my mistake...it's a spammer that can talk but can't spell....it's only fair to wait for it to grow up and acquire an education before playing with it.

"fraudulant activity is crippelling the World" indeed....
