Thinking of selling some of my books...

ONly thing to bear in mind is that it is false economy if you reread them - you will end up buying them again at a later date.
Cost wise - difficult to know - are they hard backs or paper backs? Condition? Easily available? Have a look at abebooks as that is where most booklovers try first - then compare with Amazon.0 -
I have loads of books but found that selling on Amazon is a waste of time due to the amount out there and having to list as low as 1p & not being able to set your own postage fees so you can at least make a bit of profit.
I would say carboots are the best way forwards with regards to selling books. I need to get round to doing it myself.0 -
We have one of those online sales things at work too and I've done quite well selling books on there. Put a list of all my books on greem met and some from amazon up before Christmas and sold about 15 which I was pleased with - maybe not as much as I would of got online eventually but I have the money and space now!
I've also had success on Green met and Amazon I sell a book every 3 weeks or so very roughly and then I've not tried car boot sales for books yet but I'll probably do that this summer.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

I would maybe think about selling them in "sets" or something on ebay.
Amazon I usually find is good or bad, like some say, if they are by popular authors, there will be loads listed and you might only get a penny. I find textbooks go really well on there though.0 -
The only thing I would say about selling in sets is that the postage can become quite high. I did this in my early days on ebay and would have been better of selling individually. I think its because some buyers tend to look at the overall price including p&p so the bids will be lower (thats my opinion from my personal circumstances others may beg to differ)finally debt free and want to keep it that way!!0

Dear skint monkey
if you do sell on ebay please weigh the books don't just guess the postage. For paperbacks you are lucky if you get £1 per book even in excellent condition. If you underestimate postage, then you can end up making little /no profit.
I'm thinking of trying amazon.0 -
