I have had a look through but can't find anything. I need a voucher for a free eye test or a discount or anything for Specsavers Opticians for an appointment I have on Wednesday morning. Can anyone help please? Thanks very much in anticipation.

In the most recent M&S magazine (free to cardholders, a pound if not) there is a free eye test voucher for Dollond and Aitchison, valid until 09/05/08. Maybe you could go there instead?;) www.danda.co.uk for branches.0

cancel ur specsavers one and go d&a for the test and get 500 nectar points (if u have that card).
or go optical express for a free test... their homepage has the voucher.0 -
I went to D&A on Saturday and used the M&S voucher - in the same magazine, there is one for 20% off frames, so used that too - saved £27.50 on the eye test and around £25 on the frames, so was well worth it!!0

Oh, and if you have a Nectar card, you can use that at D&A too - racks up a LOT of points in one go!!0

Why are folks so desperate for a free eye exam. Isn't it obvious that those places that do offer free eye exams do so for a reason - they deperately need the business. If they just got on and did a good job, they wouldn't need to.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Thanks for your very interesting replies. We have a voucher already for Dolland and Aitchison for a free eye test plus £25 off spectacles but we thought that Specsavers offer of two for the price of one pair of specs was better? Nobody seems to think much of Specsavers on here, do they? I nearly rang and made an appointment with D & A yesterday but husband said, leave it as it is now!!! I might just ring now and try and make an appointment and cancel the other one.
PS I wouldn't go to Optical Express ever again, I had a dreadful experience with them last year and vowed never to darken their doors again even if they were the last opticians left!0 -
We used the free eye test in D&A, and you don't have to buy your specs there. I just said I didn't have time to choose them due to school run, so they gave me my prescription written down anyway. My OH did the same and they said 'you only need standard reading glasses, you can buy them anywhere.' So no hard sell to get the glasses there.
Couldn't you get the free eye test at D&A and then go to Specsavers to look at their frames if you like the 2 for 1 glasses offer?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You can get free eye tests at Boots Opticians by signing up to the Boots Health Club.

I got sucked into the free eye test at D&A 'offer'.
Its the quickest, least comprehensive eye test I've ever had. They were rude and dismissive. It could well be isolated to that branch (Loughborough) but I will not be returning.
Not only that, they make it very hard for you to have a contact lens exam then go and buy your lenses elsewhere.0
