Anyone used ChipsAway?

Any comments on their service and an idea of the cost?

Thanks

I have not used them, but have seen their work. They do an unbelieveable job of getting rid of all those imperfections and stone chips. Unsure of the price though

a dealer i worked at used them

theyre cheap lower quality repairs , maybe not for you if you are a perfectionist or plan to keep the car

its a budget option comapred to a bodyshop ..the service will vary as its franchise, some are very good some are shockingly bad (we had the bad lol)
  • I've been in the motor trade for 11 years and hate companies like them! They do a good job, but it only lasts a few washes and then it goes all messy...

Just uses a normal body shop... Dearer, but get a better finish...

i worked at the dealers bodyshop...sales would get chips away in on the cheap , then the customer complained becuase it looks rank and we had to put stuff right...trouble was their naff paint caused no end of problems
  • Their naff jobs made it twice as hard for the normal body shops!
  • Thanks I will take notice of your comments

I find with a lot of companies like this it all depends on the individual franchisee. I have worked in the retail motor trade and have used them professionally with the results being pretty much undectable to your average punter.

Also phone round a few local bodyshops as they often have people who can do this kind of repair a lot cheaper than a full on bodyshop job.

We had chipsaway in to repair some slight scuffing to a car. Firstly they failed to cover the full area with paint (left one of the edges), then they didnt polish it too well so it looked absolutely rubbish. We havent used them since.

  • I've used Chipsaway twice and both times they did an excellent job. Both were for bumper scuffs where they filled the scratches and grooves and matched the paint. All done in the comfort of the works car park.
I've recommended them to people before and they have been satisfied with them.

The problem is they are a franchise and it really depends on the individual franchise.
  • Tank Engine has it right, they are as good as the individual doing the work, so some jobs are great, others less so...
