OU and Student railcard

Has anyone successfully got a Student Railcard, whilst studying with the Open University? I am doing 90points this year. Thanks in anticipation.

I was under the impression that there isn't a 'student' railcard, but that it is actually a 'young person's railcard' that anyone under 26 can get.

Yes but the young persons railcard can also be got by older people still in full time education. I don't know whether your 90 credits will qualify for full-time or not.

    From http://www.youngpersons-railcard.co.uk/faq.htm#3:

    3. Can I obtain a Young Persons Railcard as a Mature Student aged over 26? If you are 26 or over, you will need proof that you are a full-time student at a recognised educational establishment for over 15 hours, at least 20 weeks a year or alternatively have an ISIC (International Student Identity Card). For details of ISIC see www.isic.org. You will need to have your application form certified by the relevant University/College.

However according to Wessex trains website:

If you are 26 or over, you will need proof that you’re a full-time student at a recognised educational establishment for over 15 hours a week, at least 20 weeks a year. NUS cards will not be accepted as proof of age/educational status. (Open University, distance learning and part-time courses do not qualify).

I have sent an email to the OU asking for a letter / where to send for a stamp. They are normally very helpful, so will let you know if they can shed any light on it? Cheers for all help. Much appreciated.

I really have nothing but praise for OU...

3 days after I sent them an email I got a letter saying I do X courses and I study for Y time a week. I took this down to my local station with the Young persons leaflet and got a card there and then - much simpler than I thought.
