Virgin card & MBNA card

I recently received £10,000 from Virgin (MBNA card) for my stooze pot, a couple of days ago I received an application form in the post from MBNA offering me 0% for 9 months on balance transfers, does anyone have experience in applying for an MBNA card at the same time as having a Virgin card ?

MBNA used to be happy to let people have 2 or 3 MBNA cards, but things have changed. Recent experience has shown that anyone holding a current MBNA card had their Virgin card applications turned down with Virgin stating that the reason was the existing MBNA card. I guess the same would be true the other way around. Why not call MBNA and ask if they would consider your application ?

The danger here though, is that you'll get some trainee who says "I don't see why not sir". You'll then apply and the computer will say no, but not before it's credit searched you. Result will be a wasted search that will be visible to other lenders.

From memory Thaylock, you've only recently started stoozing haven't you? There must be nearly a dozen other cards you can apply for without going for 2 from the same stable, surely? Why not go for the MBNA card 2 months after you've closed down Virgin? But make sure you've got another SBT route in place before hand, eg Egg.

If you do decide to go down the MBNA route now though, please post back and let us (more cautious) fellow stoozers know the outcome.

It's true the other way round for sure. I applied for a Conran card (MBNA) and I already have a Virgin Card. They turned me down after "their analyst" reviewed my application and noted I already had an MBNA account.
