windows cannot access the path file or folder

    You can spend hours trying to diagnose why windows is running slow, IMO the best thing he could do is back up his work/bookmarks/anything he wants which wasnt on the PC when it came and reinstall windows. If it's a dell laptop its just a case of pressing ctrl and f11 on the dell screen and following the prompts to reset to factory settings. If it isn't, did it come with a windows disc? if so, put that in and follow the on-screen instructions.

    Sounds like he may have made a new account or changed the security settings of the current one.

    Start by login on as admin and see if you cann access all the folders files, if so that would rule them being corupted.
