Removing Voice-Over from .AVI files

I have downloaded some avi file cartoons and the original voice over is in english but italian has been put on top of that so that you can hear both of them at the same time - confusing?? Anyone know of any free software to remove the Italian voiceover

Maybe someone may correct me, but afaik an avi 'wrapper' can contain a video file and only 1 soundtrack. If that's the case then you're stumped.
Do you have some app that will analyse a file and tell you what's in it?

You can have AVI files with multiple audio tracks, though they are rare.

There is an application out there called Virtualdub which would be able to help you separate the tracks if this is the case, but it would require a bit of technical jiggery pokery!

I opened it with VLC Media Player which gives the option of left or right channel but both played in Italian. Thank you all for your help
