Do you mean the terminal on the battery itself or the clamp on the cable?
If the battery itself is broken I'd get a new battery. If the clamp on the cable is broken you should be able to get a new battery terminal clamp.0 -
its the clamp, one side of the where the bolt goes though has literally snapped off.0

any motorist shop should be able to sell you a replacement clamp0

I'd imagine you just need something like this. http://www.motor-world.co.uk/show_prod.php?prod_id=12876 old terminal off and clamp some bare wire with the grub screws. You should be able to get one for much cheaper than this though.0

a quick look on ebay shows something like this is this what i need?

however does this require me to cut thorough the old clamp to get to the thick black wires-looks like quite a delicate job.0 -
anewman i think u beat me to it!0

So long as you have enough slack cutting a little of the cable off shouldn't be a problem. You might even have some bare cable if you can get the old clamp off without cutting the cable.0

Buy that from your local Motor Factors, I'm sure I paid a lot less for one of those last year.0 -
and if you need your car to get you to the shop to buy one, stick a self tapping screw through the side of it to get you there....work permit granted!0
