BT at it again

Had a cold call from BT, they wanted to reward me for being a good customer and give me free weekend and evening calls.
I almost fell for it but then I remembered reading about how this starts a new contract and you are tied in for a year.
Questioned the caller and she reluctantly agreed this was the case, as I intend leaving them soon I feel this should have been made clear at the outset.
There, got that off my chest!

I had a few the other night from them. A bloke with a really heavy Northern Irish accent phoned us asking who our current provider was and that the call was being recorded. Politely told him it was none of his business and please stop cold calling. He rang back about 3 hours later repeating the patter to which he got the same answer.
It's good to talk......sometimes!!

Whilst this wasn't BT, it was actually Barclaycard soon after I opened a new account, I let them go through the spiel for a good 4 minutes before simply hanging up on them. I put my phone on loudspeaker and continued what I was doing. Wastes their time and money.
I get angry at these sorts of calls but am not the sort to verbally abuse people down the phone, as the people that do it need a job just like everyone else.0 -
