Anyway if you are happy buying high mileage company cars, that is fine, I know what I prefer.

Not saying that, a 1-2 year old low mileage will be fine ad a great buy but older ones probably/possibly will have problems.

If its older it is probaly best to have a decent number of miles on the clock not OTT though.

That is your opinion of course, which you are entitled to, however a car that has done 10, 000 miles in 5 years will attract a premium price for a very good reason.

It will not be " knackered " as you suggest, it will be hardly run in by that mileage.

I would buy a genuine low mileage car any day in preference to a high mileage one that has probably been driven badly by a company rep or similar for it's life.

To each his/her own, as they say.;)

I would never buy a low mileage car as described.

I'd rather have a car thats been up and down the motorway all it's life, than a car thats been back and forward to the supermarket all it's life.

Mileage is only important when you consider context. As the sole indicator of condition, its a useless number.
  • I have either bought high mileage or new cars - the one time I opted for something with below average mileage it was themost unreliable car I had.

Can only speak from personal experience and thoughts, but I would never buy a below average mileage car - you just appear to pay a premium for something which I dont think is worth paying for. In the UK we appear to be very mileage conditioned, and forget that cars are built to very high standards now and will cover huge mileages with little fuss.

Some may do, many will not, that is very much down to make/model.

I only buy Japanese branded low mileage cars, I have never spent a penny in repairs, other than consumables / servicing.

As I said, to each his / her own.
