Would be interesting to know exactly how much the OP lost due to this.

Not really. It's pretty much irrelevant to everybody except the OP, and it was enough to hurt.

Does any one think its actually fair? and could anytihng be doone about it beacuse its not exactly great that other people winn due to unforeseen circumstances

I;d love to see this rule actually changed and i do believe it is possible to have it changed as there are more negatives then positives

Love to hear what other people think - and is it actually worth complaining to the governing board?

In one sense it is fair, you bet someone would win a tennis match and they didn't. You lost your bet.

It could have gone the other way, you could have bet on the other person to win, which they did.

One of the rules of matched betting is to match the rules too. if you bet at two places and one says if a player pulls out the other one is the winner, and the second place say if this happens all bets are off, you run the risk of losing money.

You also run the risk of winning, if the right man goes on to win.

Either way, you place the bet, you take the risk.

Yeah well i guess i was not the only one who lost, there was about £1,700,000 odd matched for djokovic to win and alot was for really nothing around 1.01 to 1.15 soo lots of money gone to waste

Not much put on Davydenko but the layers of djokovic would have won loads for nothing at all

Well i guess all i can say is thats life, just got to move on and stay positive

As someone who ha done a great deal of matched betting and arbing over the years, please, please, unless you know exactly what your doing, do not use Tennis for matched betting or Arbs. Its notorious that different bookies and Betfair have differing rules on various possible scenarios. Stick to something safer like football. You have no case, hope you didnt lose too much.

Why is this thread here and not in the gambling loopholes part of the forum?

I'm sure that looking on the bright side, the OP can look at this as a lesson learnt. You lost x amount of money. That sucks. You could've lost more though. ;)

Next time I'm sure you'll double check the rules ;)

Might be worth keeping a list of certain sites whose sports are compatible with the exchange you're using, and a list of stuff to avoid at all costs because of rule differences.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it

It's been mentioned in the introductory guide that tennis isn't safe for matched betting and you should always be careful of rules for each sport you bet in.

I'm still astounded at the number of people who jump into this headfirst and then complain when they make a mistake that could have been pointed out to them if they had posted.

I hope the OP did not lose a significant sum of money. You have no recourse to IBAS or SBR as it's clearly printed in the rules.
