Sunday 10/02/08 What small dfw thing have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I have
  • Made meals from storecupboard/freezer
  • checked online banking
  • done clicks
  • Made roast dinner for oldies and we ate for free:D
  • Had a no spend day
  • DD gave me some unwanted xmas pressies for my pressie box:D
Thought someone would have started the thread before now as i am so late posting:o , my internet connection has been playing up today  but is okay now:D

hope you have all had a good day, the weather has been lovely and sunny here:j .Must get DS3 to wash my car soon, the sun is showing the muck up:rotfl:

  • Listed a few more things on Ebay, won £20 with a free bingo game (888ladies.com - then insert code ST1 for a free £10 worth of credit!), bought soft drinks in bulk so I don't have to buy them at work at 3 times the price, done a readitswap it swap, cleaned the windows with vinegar and newspaper......................

    A productive day!

Oh, just remembered, also written letters to Sainsburys, RBoS and Halifax telling them that their CCAs don't comply with the legislation and asking them how they're going to resolve this. If anything, it puts things on hold for a while which gives me a chance to put the car through it's MOT.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • i worked 4 hours overtime.
came home and i had sold another old game on amazon :)

    Xmas Saver!
Today I've had a NSD, entered some competitions and used up nearly all the leftovers from my fridge.

Put the washing out to dry too but it didn't - still it's going on the radiators rather than the dryer.

    - Did my clicks
    - Avoided going out to a cafe for afternoon tea - grabbed a few bargains at Mr T's & did it at home for a fraction of the cost
    - Used vouchers etc at boots to boost points to pay for a big birthday gift - there is method in the madness as I can now pay for a digital camera!
    - Line dried shirts, drying rest on the radiators
    - Ironing & sorting out tonight
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Hi all,
I have spent the day lazing about, but managed these few things:
    • dried more clothes on the line - gorgeous day here today
    • had a NSD
    • planned work schedule for next few weeks
    • banana bread made (and half eaten!)
    • dd2 made a chocolate sponge with chocolate butter icing - that's gone already :o
    • shepherd's pie not made as kids have decided they no longer like it! So will use the mince for spag bol tomorrow
    • had hm soup for lunch and hm lasagne for dinner - didn't cook Sunday lunch as everyone was coming and going at different times all day
That's it, I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.
