Is there any way of telling which addresses are council houses in a certain area?

    If you can't tell by looking, why would it bother you?:)

    If you search land registry, the house details won't be there as the properties have never had their own deeds AFAIK.

    If the council properties are concentrated you can often see that the improvements are identical. They have exactly the same roof where the privately owned properties don't, or the style of the windows are identical, the colour the house is painted etc.

    BUt as silvercar says, if you can't see immediately, it's unlikely to make any difference to you.
