credit card balance in credit,can i ask for it back?

recently had £600+ on a credit card,but transfered the balance to another card,also payed 1 mnoth before the transfer,and got a refund on something on the card also,so i get my new statement in,iam £70 in credit,as i dont intend using the card again,can i request the balance payed back to me?? its a mbna card

Yes. I closed my MBNA card and they paid the credit balance into my bank account directly.

Yes, or just use it for some grocery shopping if you don't want the hassle, as the next £70 of payments will come off it soon enough

but they havent got my bank accoutn details,so would they send me a cheque?

I don't know, they didn't have mine either so they took the details and then paid it in directly (I assume they verify account ownership)
Cheque is a possibility I guess, call them and ask in the morning...

Just ring them and ask for a credit refund. They will take the sort code and account number of the account you want it paid to. It takes about 3 working days to go through.

My partner cancelled a LloydsTSB card a while back and after adjusting for interest etc he was aleft with a credit balance. He asked them for a cheque to close the account & they must have put it in the post that day as it arrived the day after!
