Computing is also more respected by Universities.

This is two people that have said this now. How can a statement as broad as that be made? Surely it depends on the course applied for at university?

I'm a primary school teacher, graduated last July and I did ICT at college and I did my teaching degree along ICT and I'm the ICT co-ordinator in my school. Computing would have been useless in my case.

Just throwing my hat in

I did computing, I don't think they had ICT, or if they did my sixth form never offered it.

Computing seems so much better, it's what I wanted IT to be like at GCSE. System development, programming and how the computer actually processes things.

    Algorithms and such like.

Is it wrong I have a massive grin on my face remembering computing?

The programming part is easy, it's all logic. Don't worry about it.
I promise you that if you use pascal to program with you will go out in the world thinking of it in terms of "if, then, else" :D

Well obviously if you want to go onto teach ICT then ICT is better but for what the OP wanted Computing would have been better. There are some unis high up in the league tables which blacklist ICT which is why I said computing is more respected. I'm not trying to put people down who have done ICT as I have done both.

I realise my post seemed a little aggressive lol after typing it. I was in a rush, lol. I did a bit of programming etc at ni while doing ICT but only 2 units. It was very basic but we did do about 2 terms of how the computer works etc.

OP, do you know anyone at the college in the year above you who you could ask?
