number plate change over?
bought a new car a week ago(well bought it 5 weeks ago,but what with 1 thing and another just got it last sunday)anyway i had a personalised plate,garage changed it over to new car,and i got the document(registration) in the post on monday saying my plate was on new car,for last 3 days been looknig up car insurance prices on various sites for price for new car,put in registration no and comes up with make and model of old car,has it been chnaged over? and if i get stopped by police will i be driving with right no plate on??
Live in my shoes for a week,then tell me your lifes hard!

yes - it isn't updated instantly. i think it takes up to 28 days to change.
as long as you've told your insurers of the change and have a valid policy in force, you should be fine.
and my private plate often doesn't bring up the car details on insurer's sites - and its 2 years since i put my plates on!0 -
as long as you have the V948 letter from the local DVLA office authorizing the change to the new car and you are displaying the replacement tax disc showing your private number plate then you will be ok if you are stopped.
Those car insurance/data check databases can take months to update as they only buy information on a certain time basis, eg every quarter.

If you have the reg doc with new plate and tax disc the that will be fine. garage should have given you letter too tho - it's your proof until the reg doc is issued - tho lately the reg doc's are being done within a week of the transfer so maybe that's why.
