Rear passenger footwell is damp...best way to dry it out?
Hi All,
I have a Ford Focus 1.6LX 02 Reg.
I was hoovering the car yesterday and noticed that the rear footwell behind the passenger seat was wet  .
First of all does anyone have any ideas why this is happening.... I was thinking door seal/rear bulb seal or seal on dreaded pollen filter?
All the other footwells are bone dry if that helps.
Also whats the best way of sorting out the damp carpet?
Many Thanks

I removed my drivers seat and used a carpet cleaner to pull the excess water out of the carpet and then left it to dry naturally.
Mine was caused by a knackered sunroof seal0 -
Could it be a faulty heater matrix perhaps - if you direct hot air towards the windscreen does it steam up? What colour is the liquid in the footwell? There may be info in these threads:
windows steaming up in the rain
Inside my cars wet - where's it coming from?0 -

Cure the cause and it will dry out naturally. If there is actual water there mop with a sponge, if you have air con run it on recirc or leave the windows open on a sunny day0 -

If I direct hot air towards the windscreen it gets rid of the steam pretty quickly and the same for the back window.
Liquid is clear as far as I can tell."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

its the scuttle cover (£21 i think) and seal (£2), i had the same problem and have replaced the cover as it warped and resealed it.. for added protection i have also put black electrical tape on the cover/windscreen edge to protect it, and no leak sinceNamed after my cat, picture coming shortly0

i sponged off the excess water and then washed it with a cloth and hoovered over to suck up the rest of the water, leave your windows open if you can during the day ..and have also used fabreeze to elimnate the smellNamed after my cat, picture coming shortly0
