started work

started work last week after being on benefits for a while, saw a lone parent advisor filled out the forms to end the claim for income support, she said I was entitled to a job grant and in work credit which she put down on the form to send to them, I just need to know if they are gonna want to see so many payslips before i can get this grant and credit payments or do they just start paying it automatically or will a letter from employer stating that i'm in work with hours etc do?
Thanks.x

  • The Job Grant should be paid automatically, normally about two weeks after you start work and with WTC and RTWC you normally must keep copies of payslips. You are advised to do this as a matter of course.

Your Tax credits will be fasttracked and normally only take a week to start

You should also receive Housing Benefit (if you rent) and Council Tax Run on for 4 weeks and were you offered Adviser Descretion Fund (ADF) to help with travel costs or clothing?

well done you...:T for going back to work...I aim to do this one day when my health is alot better...and I can get a desent paid job...
you'll need your payslips for the housing benefit/council tax...just in case you can claim something toward's them....becarefull though once when I was working when my son was small I was earning £5 less than I had going out...if you think your going to get into debt don't do it...it's not worth year's of trying to get back out of the mess you can accidently get into by working...:Dalthough I think it's great that you are back into the rat race...:D

    Plans for 2009
