Help with tv problem

My Pa has a problem with his tv/video combi, just wondered if anyone could help or had come across this themselves.

When he switches the tv on there is power, there is sound but no picture. He thought it must have been the tube, but it has been checked along with the fuse and other obvious maybe's, but to no avail.
Has anuone else encountered this and was it just a simple fix or does it sound like the whole thing is broke?

hi, have you checked that the scart leads are pushed in all the way, they can be a bit loose sometimes?

I had this problem with my tv / video combi and I found that a whole lot of jiggling about got it to work again. Make sure all the leads are secure in before you try the power and do a mixture of trying to turn it on at the tv and on the remote.

I had sound and no picture, but it eventually worked with turning it on and off etc. I thought my tubes had gone, but had never heard a popping sound or anything, so persevered.

Has it been in the heat recently ? Mine had sat in direct sunlight, so was prob just frazzled.
