Where do I stand?

in Credit cards
Hope somebody might be able to help me out here...
I want to claim back the PPI payments on my credit card, but it was my dad who actually opened the card for me (before I went on my year abroad at uni), even though the card has always been in my name, I've always made all the payments on it and it's always been billed to me directly. Where do I stand on claiming back the PPI? It was opened back in 2001 so I don't think my dad would have been made aware of the PPI being optional.
Any help gratefully received!

Follow martin's easy instructions and keep the letter really simple don't add any un asked for details send it off and sit back and wait for the reply hopefully with a cheque in it.

Sounds like you're trying it on here. What makes you think after 6 years that "dad was not made aware that PPI was optional."Hope somebody might be able to help me out here...

I can't remember all the in's and outs of Martin's article but the fact that Dad signed is irrelevant.
It is the act of misselling that allows you to reclaim the funds not any actions by your Dad.
I don't think you are trying it on,if it was missold you are owed the money and that is that .
Send the letter off and you may be better off, don't send the letter you will never know.Previously known as Bokken, registered at MSE in Nov 04,computer glich deleted my access but it is fun building up my stars from scratch,again.:D0 -
