Problems with Norton and Hotmail

I've just bought a new laptop and Norton 360. My Hotmail worked fine until I loaded the Norton. Now when I go into Hotmail the screen just keeps trying to reload and won't open up MSN.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Alan

Msn uses secure port 443 to authenticate your username and password on to there server...norton personal firewall is set up as stanard with the system wide policy set up to prevent out going connections on secure port 443...remove this system wide rule and you have msn access...

If I disable norton does that mean I've just wasted my money buying it?

I've gone into 'Firewall General Rules' and there are a few 'Blocked' things in there, do I need to remove one of them?

no, it just needs some tweakinging, but we are trying to prove which part is blocking it, it can be the privacy bit blocking cookies (but you would have thought Norton might have heard of MSN ??? )

lots of people have this problem with Nortons

    an option of Norton 360

    Confidential Information Blocking
Alerts you if unauthorized sensitive personal information is being sent out over the Internet via email, instant messaging or web pages

so it's obviously monitoring, may be under parental controls setting ??

    try this

I'm sorry but I'm a complete computer thicky. I don't really know how to do anything. Everytime I check on Hotmail in MSN all my windows revert to a 'sign in' screen that repeats over and over again
