You don't have to pay your ebay fees till the end of the month. Although to be honest as soon as I have my paypal payments I settle the fees while the money is there as like you things in my life tend to crop up!
Keep inspired but if you do find whatever you do you cannot cope don't forget there are charities that can help you manage your debt. But keep your head up and give it a bash!0 -

Excellant news! Thanks for that, was trying to find out that but couldn't find it anywhere. End of month is great, as long as something sells eh! lol

You're doing fine! You've made some great progress already in that both you and OH realise the scale of the problem. Yes ok so OH is spending £200 but bet you that before neither of you would have worried much about that at least now you know the impact and it won't happen again?

Have you thought of one of the challenges over on the Old Style board? Bet you could live of what is in your cupboards for longer than you think
I found getting milk from the milk man although more expensive pint for pint saved me loads - means I don't pop in for a pint of milk and come out with 2 bags of food!
Come over the celebrations forum for great ideas on low cost presents - for your OHs birthday why not make him some bum cookies? They seem to be all the rage at the moment :rotfl:
Good luck!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Don't think there's anything I can offer that hasn't been said already, but you sound so positive, and it also seems it's rubbing off on OH. Great that he's happy to compromise with the Sky and cutting down on smoking :T
I know what you mean about unexpected things coming up once you really feel the DFW momentum going, but go with it. If he has to pay £200 then fair enough, it's done but what's important is that you are very aware of the impact spending has on the rest of your finances which is something you may not have noticed previously.
I couldn't buy OH a Valentine present because I was broke. Our Valentine's day was pretty minimal anyway, he splashed out on a takeaway and a cheap bottle of pink champagne and I got him a card and a packet of Love Hearts
Could you compromise for his brothers birthday, maybe invite him round for dinner on another evening with a bottle of wine? Dealing with my debts!Currently overpaying Virgin cc -balance Jan 2010 @ 1985.65Now @ 703.63

Hi Amber,
You've mentioned that your boyfriend is thinking of getting a bike. He should definitely get one as it would save so much money in the long run.
Get him to get one through his work. There is a government tax scheme where the cost of the bike comes off his salary before tax which means you get it cheap, and also he'll be able to spread out interest-free payments over 3 years.
Go to http://www.cyclescheme.co.uk/ (or search google for tax free bike scheme)
My boyfriend cycles to work and back every day and has done throughout winter. He finds it really wakes him up in the morning and it's good excercise too. And much quicker than the bus! And I'm going to get a bike through the scheme when I know if I'm staying in my job (lots of people are about to be made redundant but nobody knows who!)0 -
Hi all! Well I ended up baking a chocolate cake for his birthday which he loved, and so did I lol. I made him a card on the computer and put a funny photo of him on the front! So there is a way around this "no money" malarky. I have put 4 items on ebay so far. It finishes on Sunday evening so hopefully someone will buy something, just to start me off! lol Going to put more things on once this listing is up.
It's fun but time consuming! A new month is near upon us and I just hope once the bills are paid then we will have a little extra cash to play with and spread about. ahhhhh the joys!

Amber you are doing really well, just keep it up every single little bit helps.
My Hubby made me a card for Valentines day it was much nicer than getting a shop bought one! I did buy him one though with some woolys vouchers I got from a survey ( so free really ) but he's on a ship & I didn't want him to be embarrassed:p
We use PAYG mobiles, hardly spend anything on them.
Walk as much as I can
Cook from scratch, instead of choosing what I want to eat, I eat according to what's in the reduced section or on offer.
Don't buy clothes ( look like a tramp, but who cares )
Have hair done at training school
Cut my Son's hair with clippers, trim my daughters fringe ( she needs her hair cutting though, I wouldn't attempt it as very curly )
Use money off coupons as much as possible
Freeview box
Shop around for any insurances - then get cashback through quidco
Can't think of anymore, has become a way of life now
Yes it's sad not going out, but you will get used to it, & how many times have you gone out for a meal & not enjoyed it & think how much food you could have bought with the wasted money.
You are doing great!!! The bike's a great idea tooComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner
