Advice wanted regards chip on repaired car.

I recently caught my car on something - my faulty - leaving a groove in part of the car. Being quite new, I wanted the car fixed, so I claimed on my insurance. My excess was quite high - about three fifty quid - but I claimed anyway. I managed to get my excess down for next year, but that's not really the problem.

The problem is that while I signed off on the car at the time, about a week after the repair, I noticed a small chip where the repair work was done. What the garage said they did was pull the groove out, and repaint it. I don't know if this is standard practice or if they should have replaced the wing or what, but it seemed okay at the time. But now it's got a small chip about the size of half a fingernail, exactly where the scratch/groove was.

The chip shows paint beneath it, not actual metal, so I'm hoping rust wouldn't be an issue anyway. But because I paid so much money to get it fixed, I want it perfect. I called the garage, who said to take it down there, which I'm going to do. I'm hoping they fix this, though it might mean having another few days when I'm without my car. But I'm wondering..

a) Given the groove wasn't a big dent, was it/is it okay to take the dent out, rather than replace the whole wing? Is this something that happens normally?

b) If the garage doesn't fix this, I can tell my insurers that I'm not happy with the repair. How likely is it they'll fix it?

c) If I can't get this fixed, is the chip likely to rust? You can see green paint beneath it, rather than grey metal. But it's a new car, so I don't want something to end up happening to it.

I know I signed off on the repair initially, but this is a problem that developed later. So presumably I can still go back to the garage/insurer on this?

Advice would be appreciated
