I would say no.
By taking on extra debt you are weakening your credit score with the credit agencies this score is then raised again when your debt is paid off(settled).
Your credit rating only improves when your available credit is reduced thereby reducing the risk to the lender.Previously known as Bokken, registered at MSE in Nov 04,computer glich deleted my access but it is fun building up my stars from scratch,again.:D0 -
Hi,
sorry, I don't think I phrased my question correctly, I am actually asking because my partner has no credit score so therefore if I put her name as an additional card holder would she then benefit from the fact that I would be paying off the credit card?
thanks

No. Unlike current accounts, mortgages, and loans, there's no such thing as a joint credit card in the UK.if I put her name as an additional card holder would she then benefit from the fact that I would be paying off the credit card?
The primary cardholder has sole responsibility for any debt placed on the card by any secondary cardholders.0 -
thank you, thought I'd found a way to help but alas it was not to be
