For a big site like this it would take a lot of resources to spellcheck posts. That's why the solution built into these vBulletin boards is for the user to download a little spellchecker. There's a button for you to use with it on the reply box already:
Details here.

If you use Firefox, you might like to know that it has a built-in spelling checker. It doesn’t, however, come with any dictionaries. So, you need to download one, before it becomes activated. A British English dictionary is available on the official Firefox Add-ons: Dictionaries page. You won’t see a spelling button; the checker is much like in a modern wordprocessor. The spelling checker will put a dotted red line under any suspect words. You right click on the word to get a menu listing all the suggested spellings.古池や蛙飛込む水の音0

This is exactly what I would recommend. I've used Minefield (64bit version of Firefox) for quite a while now (about 18 months or so), and this is such a handy feature. It works on any site you type into through your browser. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
