if it's got the relevant input port and you have the necessary laptop-tv cable then yesYou'll always miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky
Any advice that you receive from me is worth exactly what you paid for it. Not a penny more or a penny less.0 -
Thanks, we have the cable but cant get the picture to appear on the TV screen. I am afraid we are not great with this type of thing.0

Is there a Function key on the laptop that shows a screen icon? Try pressing that key+Fn together to get the laptop to use the external display.0 -
what/how are you trying to connect the two together with?0

We have a cable that plugs into the tv directly into the usb port on the laptop.0

Can you give any more details about this USB cable that plugs into your TV? If it is just a cable it won't work! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

I used to use a an s-video lead that plugged into the laptop with a scart on the other end that went into the TV. Then had to go into monitor settings and fiddle in there.
You need to make sure you have the right ports on the laptop. John Lewis are really good if you take your laptop in and ask them to show you which lead you need.
Good luck.0 -
of course they're good to you - they charge 10x the price that you can get a lead elsewhere.0

I didn't say you have to buy it from them did I. In the early days I asked them loads of questions that they were helpful with but didn't really buy much from them. And they do the price match thing as well, so if you see it cheaper elsewhere they will match the price.0 -
If you're willing to go down the hassle of waiting for them to track down and pretend the price doesn't quite match their price match promise guidelines or just buy it elsewhere in the first place. Wouldn't say that they're that knowledgeable either, would reccomend maybe going to a small independent pc shop if you have to .
If it's an lcd/plasma screen tv you should be able to connect the monitor out from the laptop to the tv or if it's a older style crt tv then if wanting to use an s-vid cable first make sure that the tv supports s-vid as you can't just use an s-vid to scart cable on any tv.0
