Car Insurance gone up

Just had my renewal through, got it knocked down to match some of the internet quotes i got but they have just loaded it by £32.00.
Some moron hit me from behind in October, not my fault, and i was in my company car but because i had to declare it they see it as a claim.
Damn unfair.

I know it seems unfair, but statistically speaking, you are now more of a risk, whether you were in any way responsible for the incident or not.0 -

whilst statistically if you are involved in a non fault accident you are more likely to be involved in a fault accident. IF your insurers (for the company car) paid no money out and the claim is resolved, then there should be no additional loading to your policy.
I've been selling Motor Insurance for a number of years and have never heard of a situation where a resolved non fault claim had a loading on the policy.
the best thing to to do in this situation is to go back to he insurer and ask then to double check the claim code they have listed often the options
Third party hit you:-
open (pending)
closed (resolved)
are next to each other on the drop down lists and its all too easy to select the wrong one.0 -
Thanks for your replies,
The damage to my car was £450 and we have a company excess of £500.
As far as i am aware, at the mo, we sent a bill directly to the moron who hit me. At the time of the bump the moron was desperate for me not to claim, telling me he works in a garage and could get it 'fixed' for nothing, but i was having none of it. One month in a new job!!
The crash acutally happened in October and he has not contacted his insurance company or anything as he thought i just was'nt claiming. I know this as he called me all upset when he recieved the bill. He also has not been to the police to report the hit & run as it was another that hit him and pushed him into me.
So this claim is well and truly still open then.
Thanks Again0 -
