PMs with text missing

I'm having this problem recently where I'm getting PMs with no text 
It's NOT spam but proper PMs from posters I know so am not sure what the problem is.
It happens when people reply to my PM so the quoted text is there, but nothing else. I would have thought it's the poster's error but it happened twice last night with two different people.
Don't tell me it's people's subtle way of telling me to go away
