White clothes gone grey - Help me please ??

I am hoping someone can help..please...

I washed a t-shirt the other day - its pink with a white trim around it but when i took it out of the wash i noticed that some of the dye from the other clothes had run and caused the white to now go a grey  .

Is there anything i can use to get it to go back to white or is my t-shirt destined to be grey forever :-( Any help guys ??

  • hello Filly- theres a product called Dyegon (I think that's what it's called) but I don't know that it would take the pink out of the t shirt as well as the grey, have you tried washing it again, the dye might just shift.

The only real way to avoid this again is to wash whites just by themselves but if that's a pain to do you can get sheets called Colour Catcher. You put these in the wash with mixed colours and they catch any loose dye - they are OK but I still think that the only way to keep white sparkling is to do them alone

Check the MEGA Index sticky at the top of the board and look under Cleaning. There are a whole bunch of things in the clothes section that may be of help. At least one post about greys and another on dye running.
