Whats up with everyone at the moment? Must be the hot weather, but just chill - it's really no big deal if you did or didn't get a NEXT VIP invite. With everything happening in London just recently, I think we all need to put things into perspective - PLEASE let's be nice to each other!

Well said lyniced, it's not the end of the world if you don't get an invite. I got one at Christmas, but not this time around, and I don't mind one bit.

I tend to be up at 4.30am most days anyway, so I shall simply toddle along bright and early to my nearest Next on the first day of the sale. Besides, I rather like the camaraderie of standing outside with lots of others waiting for the doors to open - I actually met one of my dearest friends standing in the queue at a Next sale! (I also like the sweeties and mini chocolate bars the staff hand out whilst you stand outside).

I would just like to know (hence the contacting of Next head Office)that they are selecting Customers fairly, not at random - then I will be happy.

How would you suggest they select customers fairly? Some people simply cannot afford to buy the things they would like at full price, and therefore wait for the sales. Are you suggesting that these people should be ignored? Or those who have small children, or don't have a car, or cannot get out of the house so easily? I hope that it is a random selection process rather than simply singling those people out who spend over a certain amount.

Everyone who has an account with Next - and this is just my opinion - should be counted as a valued customer, and therefore should have an equal chance of getting a VIP invite. I look forward to hearing what their actual policy is.

Like I said earlier, if you don't get an invite, check the website regularly - particularly when the sale has ended in the store - as all excess stock ends up online. I have bagged my best bargains in the weeks after the sale.

    Good luck everyone! :D

Frizz head - you're so right - I got a magnetic fridge game for 99p reduced from £14.99 last year right at the end of the sale, which has since gone into my Christmas box for this year!

Has anyone had any luck in speaking to customer services to try and blag an invite. Apparently a few people done this in the last sale. I have just tried but unfortunately no luck. The lady was very nice but said that they had no control over the invites whatsoever and it was all done by the marketing department. She said that they start off with the customers who have been registered for the last 12 years and then purely randomly work their way down the list. I am not sure if this is true or not. I am quite annoyed as I have spent about £1000 with them in the last few months and would have thought that that qualified me a good customer. I know this is not a huge amount compared to some, but I would have thought it would have been sufficient. I might try again later to see if I can speak to someone different - if not has anyone got any other ideas?

With a comment like above you don't help matters but make people cross with you. Lets see if you keep quiet if you don't get a VIP invite for the next 5 years! I'm sure you are not always happy about how Companies treat their Customers (You recently had cause to MOAN about a parcel not arriving on time, did you not! - I have posted hundreds of Parcels over the last year (Ebay) and yes occasionaly they can take longer to arrive - but just to quote what you have said 'What's up with everyone at the moment - but just Chill - it's no big deal'
