Got a letter through he door today

From someone that is looking to buy in our close, apparently they had put an offer on the (only) house on the market a few doors down, but lost it to another buyer. It was reassuring to hear that, even in the current climate, houses in our street are so sought after. The house being sold is going for £80K more than we paid 2 years ago (and is smaller than ours!).

If he lost a smaller house to another buyer, that would indicate to me that he might not have the extra money you'd want.

And as you weren't (I presume) planning on selling, you'd expect a good price for yours as it's an upheaval you hadn't planned.
  • LOL Granville, run where? Nah, we are not planning to sell, we love our house, but I am of course pleased to see that we bought in a sought after location. :p

we had a wierd letter from foxtons recently, telling us that they had got a house on the market, 7 streets away from us.

It went on to say that as we lived locally, we might want to buy it for, or suggest it to, friends or relatives
  • Sooz ~ it doesn't surprise me, estate agents are feeling the crunch, I received about 5 leaflets in 2 weeks from several EAs asking if I would consider a free appraisal of my house. One of them even shut down. The market is not what it was a few years ago. That's why I was so surprised to be contacted by a private potential buyer.

Haha that's what hubby said. We're here for good and I am just grateful to have a house over my head. ;)
