ICICI HiSave = ABYSMAL!!

Hi, I’ve just joined this forum in the hope that someone can assist me with my ICICI Hisave account, but also to give a warning to other people considering ICICI…
Having seen the above account recommended on the Moneysavingexpert site, I opened an account at the start of this year. To cut a long story short, a month after my account was opened I am still unable to log in as I haven't received my internet banking password through the post yet (despite it apparently having been sent twice now).
After 2 phone calls and an email I’ve given up and so just rang them again and asked how I go about closing my account. I was told to log in and then email my "account manager" from the link on the account page. Of course I can’t do this until my password turns up - if/when this ever happens! I told the guy this but he said that he didn’t know the address to write to. I also asked him what address they were sending my password out to as I can’t believe it has gone missing twice in a row, but he couldn’t tell me that either as “their server was having problems, and would be unavailable for 4-5 hours” !!
Does anyone have a contact for ICICI, other than 08081 314151 as the guy I just spoke to on that number didn’t even know what day it was (literally)! Also, is there some kind of regulator I can complain to, as currently unless they manage to send this password to me I have no way of accessing my money?
Sorry for the long post but I’m SO :mad::mad: mad right now…

hi there,
try "saynoto0870" - you might get an alternative number there - and maybe a freephone number (0800) - MAKE THEM PAY FOR IT!!0 -

Thanks welshwiz - I just gave that a go and my hopes raised when I found an alternate number 0208 574 9630. Sadly they all divert back to India!
kingmonkey - I considered the time difference, but they're actually ahead of us so if anything he was 2 days out!0 -
0808 is a freephone number.0

You could always email the Head of Corporate Comms threatening to take your story to the papers0 -
Thanks Lavendyr, I'm going to ring them back once more in the morning - the infuriating thing is they keep saying "it takes xxx business days, I'm sure it will arrive tomorrow"
Of course tomorrow they'll say, "OK sir, we'll send another out, it will take 5 working days" so it looks like I'll have at least another weeks wait before I can do anything.
ARGHHH! Should have stuck with ING! As soon as I do manage to log in I'm transfering all my money back out!0 -
They are painfully slow, somewhat disorganised, but they do get there in the end, nt that that's prolly much consolation to you.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!
"Never in the history of the world has there been a situation so bad that the government can't make it worse." Unknown0 -
I gave up on them in the end and sent them an e-mail telling them why. Funnily enough, they replied to that mail within 24 hours asking me to reconsider not proceeding with my account.
Fat chance.0 -
It's unfortunate that you've all had bad experiences with them. I joined over a month ago and everything has ran smoothly.
Although you're complaining that their system was down, these things do happen, it happened to me quite often when I worked in C/S.0
