BG Moving To India

The BIG point to make though is that BG is not offshoring any of its customer facing operations. So all call centres and contact centres will remain entirely in the UK, the intended result will be jobs moved away that customers wont even notice as they wont ever have to deal with that aspect of the industry and in turn keep prices lower for longer and when a price increase is needed to keep that as low as possible. Yes I feel really sorry for those people working in BG that have lost their jobs, but the stem of losses has to be cut somehow otherwise there wont be any jobs for anyone left.
After centricas feedback from energy customers taking up one.tel offers and cancelling the whole lot after the shoddy service from one.tel I doubt they would go in that direction. Lets not forget one.tel was already based in india when centrica acquired them and valuable lessons have already been learned. Now Sacked British Gas Employee (Broken arm gets you the sack at BG)0 -

their advertising initiatives like the reprehensible - 'Say goodbye to BG and say goodbye to our engineers'. Wouldn't frighten me, but I bet that makes a few old dears think twice about getting a cheaper supplier.
Excuse me ? BG have never had this policy. Any Home Servicing agreement can be easily maintained without having any energy supply with BG.[\QUOTE]
I'm sure it is not their policy. BG or any service company will maintenance service contracts for appliances irrespective of the customers fuel supplier.
But what is FACT, is BG run billboard adds saying 'Say goodbye to BG and say goodbye to our engineers'. I'm sure to frighten the old dears and the less well informed.
Tactics like this are reprehensible. Also, I've experienced their sales staff collar me at the local supermarket and swear blind they are the cheapest supplier - when asked about relative tariffs compared to Scottish Power, SWEB, etc - they buggar off to con someone else. Again more likely to sucker in the old dears and the less well informed.anger, denial, acceptance

BG offer something called on call assistance where anybody with energy with BG but no service contract can call out a BG engineer for a fixed fee. So you hand over your £100 and they will come fix the problem (Fixed fee includes callout, all parts and all labour). Its true that if someone leaves for energy supply then they dont have that service anymore, you would then get someone out of yellow pages or the like.
Alot of people arent aware of this when looking for an alternative supplier, and many people do prefer to stay when confronted with this. How is it possibly reprihensible to keep people informed as to what they will loose when looking elsewhere ? As for this advert you refer too I have never seen such an advert in the marketing portfolio of BG and I work the people!
Field sales reps always bend the truth.... even though they shouldnt, all I can do is appologise for what you experienced. before you start slating BG though feel sorry for the thousands of old dears that have been collared by SSE reps... most of whom I speak to on a daily basis and cry down the telephone to me from what has happened to them.... I hope the ofgem investigation gets that sorted. Now Sacked British Gas Employee (Broken arm gets you the sack at BG)0
