I picked up some tubes with different coloured lids today in my local Budgens (well actually my 2 year old did :D )
I only popped in for some milk, my little boy was bugging me for some sweets and he picked Smarties when he held the tube up I saw the green lid, I said well you're a clever boy. I think he was a bit surprised that I was happy he'd picked up some sweets! He was even more surprised when I picked up another 5 tubes :rotfl:
There were lots left, pink & green mostly and a few reds.

Hurrah, I found four packs in my local Spar. A new box they had just opened, all the other tops were orange.

Found some gold and red ones myself the other day. It was from a small local post office.

Please tell me that they are just getting rid of the tubes, and U will still be able to buy smarties!!! They are MY FAV!!! :o

Yes - just a different shape. Hexagonal. No doubt so they can fit more in boxes and save space :A

If I remember correctly I don't think the new ones have the plastic caps. This will cut down on costs as they won't be using plastic in the packaging. Much better for the environment too.

Do you think they'll sell them cheaper if they save on the packaging? :D
