Best times to end an auction?

I can't locate the thread on the best times to end an ebay auction.

There was lots of personal experiences and suggestion from experienced ebayers. Advice depending on what is being sold and general discussion.

Anyone have a link or any advice to offer?

  • List it on Thursday around 8-10pm for 10 days.
This way if you don't catch buyers first weekend around, you will the second. Also, Sunday evening is the best time to end as it's the night most people are likely to be in.

That's just personal experience though, but I know a lot of people who agree.

There are also product/category variations, also if selling abroad, pick a time when most of your potential customers are all awake!

Nothing beats doing a completed item search, check the best prices paid for similar items, when they started, what price they were started at, etc.. Go to "advanced search" to find completed item search.

Do different thing benefit from different end times?

I have craft items to sell as well as kitchen items, would these be better ending in an afternoon?

Children's clothes and toys in the day too maybe.

Maybe list them on Thursday around 2-3pm for 10 days. But i'd still just go for the evening option, but earlier evening 7-8 rather than 8-10. As it's still going to be adults buying!
