high interest savings account

I want to put a £1000 cheque into a high interest savings account - I do want to be able to withdraw from it as well rather than it being stuck in an account for 12 months or anything. Would also like to be able to visit a branch of the bank it's with, so don;t really want an oline only bank! Any ideas?

depends how much access you want.

not online - don't think you can operate it by phone either
West Bromwich Star Easy Access is 6.55% and operated by post or branch
Twelve withdrawals are permitted each account year without notice or penalty.
