CC late payement fees

I have just read through the complete guide on retrieving the unlawfull fees on my credit cards, after reading this I get the impression I can claim the £12 fees that I have had recently although I thought they were allowed to charge this amount now!? Im confused

On another note, My partner is going through a debt consolidation at the moment with all of her accounts being frozen. The main reason her debt spiralled out of control was through becoming pregnant 4 years ago and being very ill through the pregnancy theirfore not working or being able to keep up with the re-peyments. Im sure that this must amount to allot of money she is entitled to off her debt (although none of the lenders would offer a settlement 2 years ago when I tried). The issue now is do we go ahead and try to reduce the debt by going down this route or would it cause more of a problem for us now as they have frozen the interest on all of the accounts?

Thanks

Chris

If you do nothing and sit tight where you are the situation will be the same in six months and you will at sometime have to deal with it.
As martin has said download/copy the example letters to reclaim your charges and then send it off(keep a copy for your records) and see what happens.
If you get some money back great,if you don't you haven't lost anything by trying.
    Good luck

  • Well im going to proceed with mine now anyway, but it's just this that im unsure of:

Charges after June 2006. For any charges on or after June 2006, you were probably hit for £12 each time. As this is already set to the OFT recommended amount, you simply need to ask for the full £12 amount to be refunded.

Surely as this is the recomended amount for late fees then I cant ask for the charges be refunded can I? Is this just a "Typo"?
