Littlewoods Free Cash

Just recieved a letter from littlewoods, saying that they're offering free cash prizes from £15+ to celebrate a new catalogue (or something). The letter says there's no catches at all and even the postage for the form to return is free.
However, take a look at the small print at the bottom and it says that by applying for this prize you're authorising Littlewoods to open a credit account for you.
Just be careful if you get one of these letters, if it's too good to be true.....it probably is!

They are such scammers, I wish they could be upfront with what the deal is. Luckily I threw the letter in the bin because it just sounded too good to be true, didn't know about the credit account.0

I got one of these yesterday too.

They have a habit ( it seems ) of adding discounted savings back onto your credit account, if you use any discount codes that were not sent to you personally.
Anything I buy from these people, I pay with using a credit or debit card.
Caveat emptor, is all I will say.... :cool:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I got one also, went straight in the bin.
Anybody who thinks its not a bad idea wait till you are refused the ac and they have left a footprint on your credit report
And no im talking from experiance.:rotfl:0 -
I also received this and have binned it as, among other reasons, i don't want a mail order catalogue as I find it easy enough to squander money and get in debt with out having yet another temptation.

Littlewoods are the most shoddy company I've had the misfortune of dealing with. A credit account will also do a credit check on you and you will get junk mail from them every week for the rest of your life.0

Littlewoods have really hit rock bottom they are sending junk mail prize draw & award allocation letters to residents of care homes!! In case this helps anyone else who may not be aware that local councils can legally sell the electoral register for financial gain and if you haven't checked the box indicating you don't want your details published anyone is fair game for these unscrupuluos companies. If this makes you as angry as it has me go to http://www.justice.gov.uk/reviews/datasharing-intro.htm they are reviewing Data Sharing and want the public's opinion.0

Littlewoods are always sending me letters-saying ive won some money but then you look at small print and you need to spend loads to get the piddly amount taken off. I wouldnt go near them, esp opening an account. Stay clear!
