There are lots of emotions and tantrums as furniture gets moved

Been there! I'm sure you'll all look back on it and wish you'd done it sooner. It will take some longer than others, of course!

Be positive - more people will be thinking about moving and buying as the weeks go by. There may be fewer of them this year but someone somewhere will want your house eventually. By making it look good, you can only be improving your chances. I used to find it hard to believe that it made that much difference because I don't notice the decor, carpets etc. I just think about where the house is, how big the rooms and gardens are etc. but now I think I'm in the minority and you do have to make the effort if you want to sell.

I have to keep thinking - the house we have seen on the net is only 450 M from the sea :j . We are going to view next week!
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

I can't tell you whether to move or not, but in terms of reducing then remember that in this market you might get more than you think if you are a cash buyer (either all cash or part cash and with the lending in place). Your 5k-10k reduction doesn't mean the ones you like will be out of reach... you just go in with lower offers and let them know your position and you might find you can do better than you think with your money.

    Good luck whatever you decide.
