  • I had an accoustic solutions TV about a year ago from argos. It was playing up straight away, so I rang the helpline. It must be a tiny company because there was no answer the first time. I tried again, and somone answered. He said "did you call just now?". I said "yes, how'd you know?" thinking that it must be a busy call centre where there are lots of calls taken by different people. He said "I couldn't get to the phone quick enough, I was in the loft" !!!!!! I told him what was going on, he said he hadn't heard of that and said to take it back.

I swapped it for a Samsung one, which had luckily been reduced during the time I had the AC one. I'd ask for a replacement one. The samsung was of much better quality, although I know people with AC ones with no probs.

Hi bought a bush 42"tv from argos back in july after 5 days there was a fault.Replaced the tv and i tried to set it up 5 mins after it was delivered only to discover it was switching itself off.Returned it and got refund.I would never buy a tv from argos again:eek:
  • my 26" one developed a fault with the hd part of it. a chap came out to fix it and they tried to locate a part but couldn't so i had to take it back to argos and get a refund.
  • My BUSHid 26" LCD works perfectly and has done for some time now.

I think it is luck of the draw, if you are buying budget tellies (like I have), you can only expect that some will become faulty. It doesn't matter where you buy them from, unless you are atlking about the service you receive.

  • It does state in their policy that they'll repair the product or, if that's not possible, give you a replacement or, if that's not possible, a refund. They will always repair in the first instance as that is the cheaper option.

The TV`s that Argos have are the same that say Curry`s Tesco, Asda, ect ect ect have. They are made by the company say Samsung or Sony and then suppliers buy them and then they are sold in the outlets. Argos dont have little people in their stockrooms or warehouses making TV`s or Kettles or Toasters like sopme people seem to think so purchasing from the company or not does not mean that you wont get the same TV ect as they are manufactured by company`s and sold on by DIFFERENT suppliers, you can still get a fault no matter where you buy it. However i can understand your frustration after having two go faulty on you i dont think i woud be too chuffed either, hope you got sorted in the end though.

Yes I had a problem with a 19" one about 9 months after purchase. I phoned the acoustic solutions helpline and left my details. A gent called me back and said they are directly sourced by Argos and all he did was confirm what he thought the issue was (over the phone) and told me to take it back to store!

£150 credit voucher because it's over 28 days - but I was fine with that.
