Day trip to France - any offers?

We'll be camping in Kent for 5 days in August and thought we'd pop over to France for the day.
Prices I find (Hoverspeed, Eurotunel) all seem to be about £30 all in

Anyone seen any deals anywhere?

With or without car?

From the Southwest the ferries from Plymouth are about £300 in the summer, sounds like a good deal.

You'd have to check the website for the cheapest times to go though.

We were in Kent last year, decided we wanted to go to France for the day.
We went to Dover parked the car and got return tickets on Seafrance for £5 each with a free bus service into Calais.

If you want to go by car, the best you can get at P&O at the moment is £30-40 for a day trip. If you want to go for longer, it's best to check their website , which has a built-in fare checker, so you can sort out when & how much.
As for the free courtesy bus for SeaFrance, that service now costs either £1 or €1.50 each way between the port and the town (on each side of the channel). Day trips on foot are currently about £6 Sun-Fri and £12 on Saturdays.

Whichever company you travel with, the best offers are booked in advance. You are very unlikely to get any special offers on the day of travel, so it's worth checking the prices out in advance. I won't recommend the various 0870 numbers for the call centres, but say no to 0870 may be able to help....
