Yorkshire Building Society - Advantage 50+ Saver

Yorkshire Building Society have added a new savings account for the over 50's. Not especially remarkable interest rate wise, but it may be attractive to travellers as it comes with free annual european travel insurance for those aged between 50-75 years. You need to fund the account with £5k and there a some other strings attached, but it may be of interest to some. Here's a link:

Depends how much you're investing - HSBC is a better deal for me as a current account (5.75% linked savings with free travel insurance and a few other bits).

I note the "small print" at the bottom:

"*This offer is subject to normal Travel Insurance underwriting procedures."

There won't be many 50 to 75 year olds around who won't be loaded for some pre-existing medical history.

That's the problem. There's quite a few bank accounts which offer "free" travel insurance but when you read the small print they usually exclude pre-existing conditions.
